QDMA To Provide Training At Missouri Department Of Conservation Deer Summit
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Quality Deer Management Association (QDMA) will send two of its certified wildlife biologists to provide training for the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) Private Land Services Division. Kip Adams and Matt Ross, who is also a licensed forester, will be among a group of presenters who will attend the MDC's Deer Summit, March 13-15.
Adams, QDMA's Director of Education and Outreach, and Ross, QDMA's Certification Programs Manager, will provide training and insight on several aspects of Quality Deer Management (QDM). Adams will speak on Aging Live Deer, Survey Techniques (Spotlight Surveys, Camera Surveys, Aerial Surveys), Data Collection (Harvest & Observation) & Analysis, and Harvest Recommendations. Ross will speak on Whitetail Biology & Behavior, QDM Cooperative Formation, Maintenance & Benefits, and Setting Goals - What is Realistic?
The Deer Summit will also include several presentations from the MDC and other contributors. Among some of the additional presenters will be Dr. Karl V. Miller, a Charter Life Member of QDMA, and Dr. Craig Harper, a Life Member. Both are frequent contributors to Quality Whitetails magazine and regular speakers at QDMA's Deer Steward courses.
