California Deer Association to Auction Six California State Tags in 2012
Six California State Fundraising Tags in 2012
The California Deer Association (CDA) is proud to be one of a select few conservation organizations to auction big game fundraising tags in California. CDA received four Golden Opportunity Deer Tags and two Open Zone Deer Tags, which allow for special hunting opportunities throughout the year.
The Golden Opportunity Deer Tag allows the high-bidder the prospect of hunting one buck deer throughout California, in any zone, from the second Saturday in July through December 31, using any legal method of take. The Open Zone Deer Tag allows the high-bidder to hunt any open zone using the specific method of take within the specific zone dates.
"CDA has been fortunate to provide these opportunities to conservation-minded sportsmen and women for several years," notes Jerry Springer, President of CDA. "We are honored to have been selected once again to help raise money for our deer herds. With six tags again this year, we hope to exceed our 2011 efforts."
In 2011, CDA raised $135,000 by auctioning fundraising tags at our various chapter banquets statewide. This year's tags will be auctioned at the following banquets:
