Last weeks fishing report from me mentioned the lack of water as the lake was cooling. Ahem....!
Went Monday to catch the early part of the rain predicted for this week, so so, and worked hard to get one over 30 and see a couple more. Not a lot of rain and kind of overall a disapointment. Temps still 69's. Checking rainfall and staying home yesterday, noted 1.67" rain over there for Monday, most of which must have come that night(not much during day). They expected a lot of rain on Tuesday, and I skipped the fishing, been there, done that. Went today expecting possible rising water, and rising it was as I watched it come up at least 1/2 foot while I fished. Noted creeks were running and fuller, but not out of banks. Fishing all day with some level of precipitation most of day, and once again, slow bite getting another low thirties and a spotted one, and seeing one, possibly two more. Temps have come down to 66's, water looks to be 1 to 1.5 feet below summer pool, or that would be my guess. So far they haven't pulled a bunch of bad water into the main lake, however...
reading the precip report for yesterday I see OVER 4", giving a two day total of greater than 5.5. Kind of a good news bad news scenario, this will bring the lake back up to the draw down graph line, and the bad news, it will most likely run it over the planning line quite a bit, and could be the start of another ugly fall of too much water and too much current again.
Yes I was hoping it would be full as it cooled. What was I thinking????
