Another good outing. . .this time on the Greenup Pool

Put in at the Coal Grove ramp saturday afternoon with my son (Jeremy - 5yrs old) and my brother-in-law Kevin. From there, I proceeded to play guide. . .on my last cast, I did catch one little white bass about 7" long. Anyway, Kevin proceeded to hook 6 keeper largemouth and spots putting 5 in the boat. I couldn't get ahold of anything for Jeremy to reel in, but Kevin let Jeremy reel in 3 of the 5 were put into the boat. The biggest was 17" and a solid 2+ lbs, the other 4...

A buddy and I went one pool down and fished out of Maysville, and had a fun day of fishing. We caught a dozen or so white bass and hybrid stripers upto 6lbs, 2 nice Spotted bass (1 about 14" and the other about 16"), an 18" Sauger (couldn't get any others to go with him, so we released him at the end of the day), a big drum, a gar, and a short 11" largemouth, just a fun day of catching a wide variety of fish. Not to mention another dozen or so that didn't make...

i never have fished in the ohio (bass) what do i need to know and where is a good spot to catch some smallies i have only caught one smallie in my life i would like to try them a round thanks,cregg

The River (Ohio) has been really good all summer and into the fall we was hopping to do some fishing this week on the river to do a winter article but the increased rains
have made the river just about un-fishable this week, it was returning to normal and then we got the rains again.. We will be watching the river close since its only a few blocks from the shop

In the last week we have seen the river start to get in better shape and the locals have been coming by for the 1/4oz spinnerbait that has worked so well on the river
the bass fishing is getting better along with all the other fish in the river.. If you have been on the river in the last week tell us how you did..

I had planned to fish the river for the last few weeks then we got all the flooding rain, looks like the river is starting to get back into its banks a little

We got our first reports on the river this week. it appears that the river is starting to get in good shape, we have heard of catches of Crappie, Bass, Catfish,
the water level in back to normal and only moderately stained.. If you get to fish the river in the up coming week let us know how to did..

The Ohio River crested at about 44 foot this weekend, water is in the trees and has closed some ramps, this should start to return to regular water levels
soon if we don't get a lot more rain.. the river look nasty at this point but I will try to follow up as the river returns to normal..

Greenup Pool Hot this week

We have been getting reports that the Greenup pool has been hot for Bass this past week, with 10 and 15 bass catches common this pass week.

Bass have been taken on small top water jerk baits and small spinner baits, the fish have been located on humps, points,water discharge points.

we would like to see a few pictures of catches on the river..
this week should be good all week..
